My life path has taken me to many places, many not great but with great learning experiences within them. I was raised in a Catholic church, attended Catholic school through sixth grade, and then into CCD classes through high school. I also attended a Catholic college for a three semesters and then transferred to a public university after a quarter off recovering from breaking my hip in a car accident. As an young adult, I didn’t have anything to do with church except upon occasion when I was with relatives for the holidays, or was being paid as a freelance musician.
Following the birth of my first child, I started on a spiritual journey. I had a new friend from work who was filled with the Holy Spirit, and we would talk. Being Catholic, I really knew nothing of the Bible so she suggested I go to a bible study. While attending the bible study, my husband was diagnosed with stage four cancer. I needed support and I found it in the Bible study group, I shortly after joined a conservative Presbyterian church.
At the church, I became a Stephen Minister, a Stephen Minister leader, an Elder, a chair of a couple of committees, and a part of a Prayer Council. During the later half of the 90’s, my husband went through 2 bone marrow transplants in which he did very well. I also started attending a series of six 5-day workshop/retreats on the Power of the Holy Spirit - Each was a different subject, one was the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We all had the opportunity for prayer to have our spiritual gifts released. Afterwards people kept coming to me for healing. I would say, “It’s not me it is God, you can go to anyone," but they would continue to come to me. I did not embrace the healing ability because I didn’t want it to become an ego issue and was tuned off by the television healers, especially being so offended when I went up for prayer once and the Pastor basically tried to push me down as if I were resting in the spirit. I am a firm believer that if the Spirit wants you to rest you need no pushing.
So with all that said I learned three questions to ask to see if something was of the light or dark and they were:
1. Does it Glorify God/Source/Creator
2. Is it biblical.
3. Is there sweet fruit.
Also during this series we were told Reiki did not glorify Jesus.
Much happened the next 15-20 years: I became a widow, (and a pastor even labeled me the ‘forgotten widow’.) I was rooted deep into the victim mode which had been started as early as preschool years and established when my mother died when I was 13. Then on December 2nd of 2015, I experienced a small stroke, I now say it was one of the best days of my life and a wake up call. I started meditating and within days, I heard the Spirit say “I showed you in the 90’s you have gifts of healing, you are to be using your hands as a vocation, not a ministry.” It was rare for me to get such a clear message. But how? What was my modality? I went and talked to my naturopathic doctor, who I had once prayed for and she experienced a healing. She said “You damn right you are!” After a discussion, including the teachings I had about Reiki “being from the devil” she gave me the name of a woman who had been trained by a nun.
I contacted her, told her I had never had Reiki and what I had been taught about it. She said I needed to experience Reiki before she would train me. During our session, after she did the basic hand positions, she asked if my stroke was on the right side of the brain - “it was” I said. She did a particular technique during which my head felt like it was shaking back and forth, but I was doing nothing. When I got home the minor visible symptoms from the stoke were gone - my eye and smile, and a very slight speech effect were now normal. I knew Reiki was not evil. I had a healing and felt joy - that was sweet fruit, she laid her hands on me - that is scriptural (Acts 28:8) placed his hands on him and healed him. I was grateful and I believe the healing glorifies God.
I sometimes wonder if just the difference in cultures creates this biased teaching against Reiki. It was started in Japan. It is pronounced Ray-key, a Japanese name, with the words Rei or Universal life force, and Ki, the energy which animates us and is found in all of us. God is our life force, everything is energy, emotions have a vibration attached to them, when our heart stops, we get the paddles with a shock of energy in hope to bring us back to life.
One of my clients, who was concerned about doing Reiki, experienced a message during prayer that said her vision of God was too small. This reminded me that too often we put God in a box. It is a box that is a result of our upbringing and religious teachings when we are young. God is much bigger than we realize.
I knew I was going to be walking in the light receiving the privilege of helping others by helping their body move into a healing vibration and into homeostasis, so that their body could heal itself. My God-given gift - the privileged to witnessing the beautiful physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual transformations.
When I think of my spirituality and faith, I do my best to walk in the light, I share compassion, gratitude, kindness. I do my best to follow Jesus, my role model who is love, who did not judge, and lead with compassion.GOD is Devine Source of LOVE . . . Fear is FEAR
GOD is Devine Source of LOVE . . . Fear is FEAR
Let’s find a reason to Unite rather than Fight
Let’ be light not darkness
So as I read some of the reviews of my clients I celebrate with joy that the Devine part of me is helping others. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&source=hp&ei=7Tj1XKTUFOWMggfMkaog&q=heart+energy+wellness&oq=heart&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-hp.1.0.35i39j46j46i131j0j46j0l3.1831.3804..4861...2.0..0.76.410.6......0....1.......8..46i39j0i131.XLvikwK6Tc0#lkt=LocalPoiReviews&trex=m_t:lcl_akp,rc_f:nav,rc_ludocids:4517258462488282211,rc_q:Heart%2520Energy%2520Wellness,ru_q:Heart%2520Energy%2520Wellness
